Sue Wong Takes the High Road in Fashion

What would Los Angeles Fashion Week be without a spectacular show by Sue Wong, one of the doyenne's of L.A. fashion?
The queen of fashion held court March 18 at her Griffith Park-adjacent mansion to display her latest collection for Fall 2011. Tall, skinny models, looking like storks attired in total elegance, paraded around the Ventian-style abode originally built for silent-film star Norma Talmadge in the 1920s. Sue was replendent in her own form, with a jade necklace the size of a fist hanging from her neck and her jet-black hair slicked back in a simple but sophisticated style.
Sue never does anything half way. She not only designed the collection, but styled its presentation. Oh, and she also styled the flower arrangements.
The collection was everything anyone would hope from the woman who is known for her exquisite evening gowns and cocktail dresses that are drenched with embellishmens such as ostrich feathers, beading, lace, organza petals. Sue said her inspiration this season was taken from the movie "My Fair Lady," in which the protagonist, played by Audrey Hepburn, underwent a total transformation, from gutter snipe to classy lady.
While the models swept through the house, guests sipped cocktails and nibbled on sandwiches and pasta salad for a refreshingly different take on how fashion is seen.
