Shachtman Named Guess North American President
Nancy Shachtman was named Guess? Inc.’s president of North America. She will preside over Guess North American retail operations as well as Guess by Marciano and Guess Wholesale.
Shachtman spent most of her career at the Los Angeles–based fashion giant, joining the company in 1986. She rose through the ranks and until recently was president of Guess? Inc.’s wholesale division, which she operated for 10 years.
Paul Marciano, Guess chief executive officer, said, “Nancy’s proven track record of strong leadership and management skills have been an integral part of the success of both our North American wholesale operation and the overall growth of our brand.”
Guess owns and operates 473 retail stores in America and Canada and 880 stores elsewhere around the world. According to the company’s last posted financial results, Guess’ North American retail stores generated revenues of $253.7 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2011, which was a 5.9 percent increase from $239.5 million in the same period in the previous year.—Andrew Asch
