Dallas-based contemporary showroom Ritz Group is moving the party west with the debut of its first Los Angeles showroom in the Cooper Design Space. The 2,000-square-foot space will be home to brands that are new to the Los Angeles market, said Brad Ritz, co-owner of the Ritz Group.
“Our vision for L.A. was to get new product out there, product that isn’t saturated and that has some traction,” he said. In Los Angeles, Ritz Group will represent Hunter Dixon, Plenty by Tracy Reese shoes and ready-to-wear, Alice & Trixie, 2b. Rych, Ali Ro, and Oryany handbags. In Dallas, the 25-year-old Ritz Group represents brands such as Badgley Mischka, Cynthia Steffe, Jenny Han and Maria Bianca Nero.
Ritz said the goal of a Los Angeles showroom wasn’t to re-create its Dallas showroom but to expand its reach. “We saw the West Coast as a great opportunity—it is an exciting and dynamic marketplace, and we’re very excited to be there, but we know we have to prove ourselves. The only thing that matters is product and support of the retailers,” Ritz said. “We’re extremely responsive to the needs of buyers.”—Erin Barajas
