Gores Group Buys Scovill Fasteners
Los Angeles–based private-investment firm The Gores Group LLC is in the “final stages of acquiring” the assets of Scovill Fasteners, the 209-year-old company that makes engineered closure products for apparel and industrial applications. The Clarkesville, Ga.–based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April.
Gores Group recently invested in Los Angeles–based Big Strike Inc., whose juniors brands include Heart Soul, Soulmate and Free to Love. The company also has a stake in New York–based J. Mendel.
