MGM's 'Raging Bull,' 'Platoon' to Make T-Shirt Debut
“Raging Bull” and “Platoon,” two classic flicks from MGM Studios, are getting the T-shirt treatment thanks to a licensing deal between the film studio and Swag Like Us, a Los Angeles–based apparel company. The men’s and women’s T-shirts debuted with a May launch at Urban Outfitters and target specialty and department stores.
Styles include crew, V-necks, cloaks and wide-scoop dolman bodies for women while the men’s collection incorporates five designs on 100 percent cotton crew-neck, garment-dyed T-shirts for a vintage worn-in feel. The collections are produced in Los Angeles.
MGM’s Tricia Samuels, executive director of licensing, said the studio hopes the collaboration will appeal to fans of the movies and “fashionistas” alike.
Retail prices for the T-shirts range from $28 to $60.—Erin Barajas
