Stacia Debuts Santa Monica Boutique
Popular knitwear line Stacia is making at retail comeback on July 16.
The Santa Monica, Calif.–based Stacia is opening a boutique in the city’s Montana Avenue district.Stacia designer Stacy Johnson closed her previous Stacia boutique in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2004, when she moved her family and company operations to California, according to a statement from the fashion label.
The new Stacia boutique is located at 808 11th St., at the intersection of Montana Avenue and 11th Street. The boutique is being used as a design studio for the label, which is sold at more than 300 boutiques across the United States as well as at Barneys Japan.
quot;I'm excited to be getting back to retail after seven years of building my wholesale and online business,quot; Johnson said in a statement.quot;As a designer, I love the feedback I can get from customers in a boutique, and I love the idea of inviting my customers into an intimate boutique where they can also see my design studio and get a glimpse of my creative process.quot;
The Stacia brand started in 1998. It offers sweaters, hoodies, knit dresses, scarves and wraps in vibrant colors inspired by the Southern California beach lifestyle.—Andrew Asch
