Workshops on the L.A. Fashion District
The Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency has scheduled three community workshops for people to share their ideas on improving the Los Angeles Fashion District.
With $1 million in funds, the CRA has launched a study to determine how to spruce up the 115-square-block district, which encompasses an array of showroom buildings, retail stores, restaurants, loft apartments and various garment manufacturers.
The idea is to set the Fashion District’s course for the next decade. All workshops will be held on the main floor of the Merchants Exchange Building at 715 S. Los Angeles St.
The first workshop will be a breakfast roundtable from 10 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 27. Later that day, a second workshop is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m., and a third workshop, which includes a walking tour of the district, is set for 10 a.m. to noon on Jan. 29.
Those unable to make the workshops can fill out a survey about the district at www.fashionyourdistrict.org.—Deborah Belgum
