Charles Nolan, 53
New York fashion designer Charles Nolan died on Jan. 30 at the age of 53 after battling cancer. Before establishing his own label in 2004, Nolan was the designer behind lines such as Bill Blass, Ellen Tracy and Anne Klein. Tipper Gore was wearing a Charles Nolan design during the 2000 Democratic National Convention when she was prominently—and passionately—kissed by her husband, presidential candidate Al Gore.
