American Apparel Adds Jeans
Los Angeles–based T-shirt maker American Apparel has added jeans to its mix and hired denim veteran Georges Atlan as its director of denim. The former Guess executive is supervising the development of the line, which is made in American Apparel’s sewing and dyehouse facilities in Los Angeles. Made from 14-oz., 100 percent cotton, the initial collection features two styles—a high-waist jean with tapered legs and a high-waist cuffed short. The jeans are currently available in two washes with more styles—including men’s—and more washes planned for a later rollout.
