Supremes Hear Walmart Suit
The Walmart class-action lawsuit concerning the hiring and promotion practices employed by the Bentonville, Ark.–based retail giant has hit the Supreme Court of the United States. At issue is whether Walmart discriminated against women when making hiring and promotion decisions. The Supreme Court is not deciding if Walmart is guilty of discrimination but whether the plaintiffs satisfy federal rules to move forward with a class-action lawsuit.
