Made for TV

To say that Shareen Mitchell is perfect for television is an understatement. A former actress turned vintage retailer, designer and archivist, Mitchell is the go-to gal among designers, stylists, fashion editors, actresses and fashion-minded girls in L.A. and New York for inspiration and closet staples and party dresses. Not only because she makes vintage look and feel new, but because she knows what's up.
And she'll say it - whether or not cameras are present to document it. Your butt looks big - she'll tell you. That dress is perfect - she'll tell you. Now there WILL be cameras there and fashion-lovers and reality TV fans will get a chance to experience Shareen for themselves when her show "Dresscue Me" airs later this year on Discovery's Planet Green channel.
With designers trooping in to scour her archives (I've run into the lovely Erin Fetherston there on several occassions), actresses and stylists dropping by to scoop up vintage-yet-spot-on goodies and clients vying for Shareen's signature tough love, any given day at Shareen Vintage would make for compelling TV. Just recently, on a random Thursday Shareen got a call from a new friend asking if she could drop by the store with a "couple of friends." Those friends turned out to be Vogue's Andre Leon Talley and the New York Times' Michiko Kakutani. You know, no big deal.
My point is, if her regular life is so bananas, her show is going to be amazing. In case you missed it, the Gray Lady published THIS recent profile on Shareen.
