E-commerce Site Focuses on Home Deacute;cor Textiles and Small Yardage
St. Louis–based David Sampson Inc. launched several e-commerce sites selling home deacute;cor textiles, fabrics by the bolt and related materials for home sewers and small businesses.
Decorating Fabrics (www.decoratingfabrics.com) sells drapery, upholstery and bedding fabrics, as well as tassels and trim. The site has an inventory of more than 10,000 fabrics. Customers can also purchase 3-by-6-inch swatches from the Decorating Fabrics inventory for $1.50 each.
Buy the Bolt Fabrics (www.buytheboltfabrics.com) carries more than 3,000 fabrics—ranging from broadcloth, terry and canvas to silk dupioni, organza and tulle. The minimum purchase is one bolt, or approximately 12 yards of fabric.
The company also operates Fashion Fabrics Club (www.fashionfabricsclub.com) and Denver Fabrics (www.denverfabrics.com), which carry apparel and home deacute;cor fabrics, as well as sewing notions and other related products.
“We cater to the small businesses and home sewing enthusiasts,” said Tom Sampson, son of David Sampson, who founded the company in 1955. “We have the buying expertise to get the best value for our customers through the relationships we’ve built up over 50 years. One of our specialties is buying manufacturers’ overruns. That allows us to offer top-quality fabrics at savings of up to 80 percent off.”—Alison A. Nieder
