O'Neill Launches Headphone Collaboration
This month, O’Neill debuts a new line of headphones in collaboration with Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics. The four-style collection was designed with the hard-wearing action-sports enthusiast in mind.
“This range realizes the synergies of Philips’ simplicity and innovation and O’Neill’s set of core values based around the concept of innovation in style and technology. Our new headphones are totally uncompromising in their durability— because they’ve been tested on our test animals: the toughest O’Neill riders, the most uncompromising and daring boarders around,” Nick Andrews, senior manager of consumer marketing at Philips, said in a statement.
Design inspiration came from the action-sports industry as well. The “Stretch” headphones were inspired by the heavy-duty materials found in wetsuits. The “Snug” headphones feature a folding design for portability. The “Covert” style is an ear-bud style with big sound and iPhone controls. The “Specked” cord-free ear buds are available in a range of colors.
Wholesaling for $20 to $50, the O’Neill/ Philips headphones will be available in Europe and domestically in September.
