Saks South of the Border
New York–based retailer Saks Inc. opened its second licensed Saks Fifth Avenue in Mexico City. The two-story, 82,500-square-foot store is located in the Plaza Carso center in Mexico City’s Polanco district. Plaza Carso features two museums, a hotel, a theater and an upscale shopping center. The first Saks store in Mexico City opened in 2007 in the Santa Fe Shopping Center. Saks operates in Mexico under a licensing agreement with Operadora de Tiendas Internacionales, S. A. de C. V. and Prestadora de Servicios OTI, S.A. de C.V., affiliates of Grupo Sanborns, S. A. de C. V.
