L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2011: Donna Mizani
Donna Mizani made a splash by designing perennial favorites, such as the little black dress, and embellished them with risqueacute; details such as a bare midriff area.
On Oct. 15, she presented new looks for some of her most popular styles. The 25-look show for her Spring 2011 collection took a bow at the H.D. Buttercup Showroom in Los Angeles. The show was a fund-raiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds for pediatric cancer research.
For Spring, Mizani offered a dress-driven line with some bright colors—think a coral turquoise offset by earth tones. She also updated some popular silhouettes in her line with new fabrics such as lace and crochet.—Andrew Asch
