Brando Lawsuit
Joe’s Jeans has been sued by Brando Enterprises for unlicensed use of the Marlon Brando name in connection with a line of leather jackets called “The Brando.” The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 24, seeks to stop Joe’s Jeans, a Los Angeles apparel company, from using the Brando name and seeks compensation in damages. Brando Enterprises was established last year by The Marlon Brando Living Trust to protect the actor’s name. Co-trustees are movie producer Mike Medavoy, business manager Larry Dressler and family friend Avra Douglas.
