Dollar for Flood Victims
Goodlettsville, Tenn.–based Dollar General Corp. donated more than $200,000 in cash and merchandise to help victims of the recent floods in Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. The donations include $90,000 given to the American Red Cross, $10,000 in gift cards given to Second Harvest Food Bank and more than $70,000 in merchandise. The company also contributed $20,000 to United Way’s Restore the Dream fund, which assists nonprofits to recover after natural disasters. Restore the Dream was founded in 1999 by Dollar General and Cal Turner Jr., a member of Dollar General’s founding family.
