Retail was entertainment on April 29 when designer, Project Runway alum and occasional Apparel News blogger Nick Verreos hosted The Style List at the Impulse department at Macy’s in Los Angeles’ Beverly Center. It will be the first in what will be an occasional series of fashion events at the Beverly Center Macy’s.
The Style List was a runway show, styling event, QA with leading designers and laugh-fest with Verreos, who was clad in a lavender shirt, tie and gray tuxedo jacket as he interviewed designers Rachel Pally; Corey Lynn Calter; Daniella Clarke of premium denim brand Frankie B; and Laurie Pike, the style director at Los Angeles magazine, which co-sponsored the event.
Between runway segments, Verreos encouraged the more than 100 audience members at the event to start creating their own style. Pike told the crowd there was a lot of style inspiration wherever the audience looked. “In L.A. there is joy, color and festivity in dressing. There is an exuberance to Los Angeles style,” she said.
