Yotam Solomon's Hollywood Hills Bash

Yotam Solomon described the “ultimate style” for the modern woman he dresses as “sexy, fun, L.A.” So the designer went for a very Hollywood-type party for his latest presentation, held last night at a private residence in the Hollywood Hills.
After all the models and celebrity guests got their photos snapped on the red carpet erected by the tony pool patio, they made their way to the upper floor of the house that was like a glass-walled diorama overlooking the twinkling lights of the city.
Models served as a centerpiece of the party, sitting on and around ivory ottomans in the middle of the room. This season, Solomon said, he was influenced by Native American culture. That translated into chiffon strips that hung like fringe and fabric made to look like feathers on his tight dresses with criss-crossing cutouts.
It was what you would imagine a Hollywood-type party to be like. Guests settled in the perimeters on sofas or on the balcony, drinking in the view. Everyone was dressed up to get their photo taken like they were somebodies, and several were. Two actresses from the “Twilight” movies were there (Nikki Reed and Christian Serratos) as was one of the actors from the TV show “Heroes” (James Kyson-Lee); plus trendy night-life orchestrator Brent Bolthouse and an actress who was in “The House Bunny” movie (Monet Mazur). The home décor had a Hollywood entertaining vibe: a shiny black grand piano, esoteric abstract art and black-and-white celebrity portraits on the walls, and ethnic pottery and sculptures on the shelves. All the outward display of peacock-feather grandeur was an apropos backdrop for Solomon’s body-conscious designs that crave attention.
