Ferris Wheel Planned for Rodeo Drive Party
The upcoming Fashion’s Night Out will turn Rodeo Drive into a block party on Sept. 10.
The multi-city event will celebrate fashion and seek to boost the industry’s sales by producing parties and fashion events in boutiques and department stores in fashion capitals around the world.
High-profile fashion street Rodeo Drive will do its part to create a festive atmosphere by placing a Ferris wheel on the 200 block of Rodeo Drive. “We hope to produce a fantastic block-party atmosphere on the street,” Rodeo Drive Committee President Tom Blumenthal said in a prepared statement.
There are plans to close the 200 block to traffic on Fashion’s Night Out. Free Ferris wheel rides will be provided to shoppers who present receipts from purchases they made on Rodeo Drive that evening.
There also will be store events at Rodeo Drive boutiques Chanel, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino and 40 other Rodeo Drive merchants.—Andrew Asch
