CMC to Host Runway Shows at Upcoming Market
n During the Holiday/Resort Fashion Market set for Aug. 8–11, the California Market Center will present a new series of daytime runway shows featuring resources from building tenants and brands participating in trade shows held in the building. The CMC will host the FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show, TRANSIT LA Shoe Show and Brighte by ENK for the duration of the Fashion Market.
The new runway shows will be held in the CMC’s penthouse. The first show, a contemporary-collections show featuring brands from the building’s fifth floor, will be held on Aug. 9. Designers set to participate in the contemporary show include Sue Wong, A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz, Nick & Mo, Closet Romantic and Silk Culture. On Aug. 10 Jeffrey Relf of The Fashion Office will produce “F2 Runway Show” to showcase emerging designers, including resources showing at the FOCUS show. Fashion Business Inc. will present its Designer Launchpad runway show on Aug. 11. All the shows have a noon start time.
“The lunchtime runway shows are a great way for retailers to relax, see new collections and discover emerging designers exhibiting at the FOCUS show,” said Joanne Lee, senior vice president of the CMC, in a statement.
