Gap Names Keiser CIO
Veteran retail technology executive Tom Keiser was recently named chief information officer and executive vice president for Gap Inc., according to a Jan. 12 statement from the San Francisco–based retailer.
Keiser most recently worked as chief information officer for Limited Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. In his new role, Keiser will drive initiatives to improve Gap’s global technology platform. This platform spans brand, product and corporate employee systems. Keiser will report to Gap Chairman and Chief Executive Glenn Murphy.
“Tom brings with him a successful track record in the retail industry,” Murphy said. “Through his leadership of rolling out effective technology platforms that delivered solutions for employees, customers and stores around the world, he has consistently demonstrated how effectively IT investments and execution can deliver business results.”
Keiser has worked in informational technology and retail technology for more than 20 years. At Limited Brands, he was commended for anticipating future needs and issues for the company’s burgeoning technology systems, according to a statement. He also developed an expertise in international business, managing the rollout of IT systems in the Middle East and Europe when he worked for business services and consulting firm Ernst & Young.—Andrew Asch
