Premiegrave;re Vision Draws Buyers With Direction, Partnerships
The Jan. 12–13 run of Premiegrave;re Vision New York drew a mix of designers that included several members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, thanks to a partnership between the textile trade show and the nonprofit organization.
Held at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building in New York’s Chelsea district, the show featured nearly 200 exhibitors, primarily from Europe. Additionally, Direction by Indigo was held concurrently on the fourth and fifth floors of the Metropolitan Pavilion, featuring textile artists, fashion forecasting services and CAD software providers.
A spokesperson for Premieacute;re Vision said the show went well, but final attendance figures were not available at press time.
At the show, Premiegrave;re Vision organizers launched a new program for CFDA members that included a special trend presentation on Jan. 12 by Sabine Le Chatelier, fashion deputy director of Premiegrave;re Vision. CFDA President and designer Diane von Furstenberg and Premiegrave;re Vision Chief Executive Officer Philippe Pasquat opened the trend presentation, which was followed by a cocktail party.
CFDA members were also given the opportunity to preview collections online prior to the show and send a “wish list” of fabrics and trims to show organizers, who then created a customized “road map” of the show, which also included a VIP lounge for CFDA members.
The partnership will continue next month at Premiegrave;re Vision in Paris, where show organizers will host a special trend presentation for CFDA members and will provide supplier recommendations and introductions at the show.
