Style Muses of a Different Sort
Artist Kimberly Brooks has made a name for herself painting dreamy, colorful paintings inspired by Los Angeles' landscapes and fabulous people. Now, she has turned to stylists and fashion industry insiders (both in Los Angeles and New York) as the inspiration for her latest collection of oil paintings, "The Stylist Project."
The result is a series of paintings depicting stylists to the stars Rachel Zoe and Arianne Phillips from Los Angeles and Grace Coddington of Vogue, Joe Zee of Elle and Kim Hastreiter of Paper from New York. Former editor Rose Apodaca and writer/filmmaker Elizabeth Goldwyn also got the paint treatment.
Art and fashion-lovers will get their first glimpse at Brooks' latest offering Feb. 27 through April 3 at the Taylor De Cordoba Gallery in Los Angeles. The collection will then travel to the East Coast in 2011.
