'Launch My Line' Goes Googoo for GAGA

Lady Gaga is one of the hottest acts going. She has been inspiring the worlds of music and fashion as of late and now she will present the next challenge for the designers on "Launch My Line." The performer and fashion icon will appear on this week's episode of the new Bravo reality series which airs on Jan. 6.
Gaga has taken the world by storm with her music and fantastical costumes. She has made numerous appearances in statement-making outfits at awards shows and events truly pushing the fashion edge. Recently, she performed on the recent American Music Awards in a revealing bandage ensemble and at MOCA's 30th Anniversary Gala in an outfit designed by Miuccia Prada. The recent release of the "Bad Romance" video created a buzz in the blogosphere due to her avant-garde costumes - especially those from Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 collection. And then there's "The Monster Ball Tour" - a fashionista's costume dream come true.
Lady Gaga's statement-making looks have received both criticism and praise, but certainly her style will never be forgotten. Her now iconic look is both highly original and extremely daring. Who else could actually pull off and then inspire trends such as outrageous headwear and sunglasses, extreme shoulder pads and pantless fashion?
The question now is whether the designers on "Launch My Line" are up to the task. Will they up the fashion ante with Gaga's extreme fashion inspiration? As Gaga said in the preview video featured on the Bravo website, "I'm not a designer, but I'm a creative thinker. It really just takes a good idea." A perfect match for this reality show, where the "designer" contestant has the vision and an "expert" helps execute the look. After all, having a vision is what designing and creating lasting fashion statements are all about.
