Spyder Sells Cloudveil
Boulder, Colo.–based Spyder Active Sports Inc. sold Cloudveil Mountain Works to Westport, Conn.–based private-investment company Windsong Brands LLC for an undisclosed amount. The sale includes all intellectual property and assets of the mountain-lifestyle brand. Spyder will continue to manage the back-end support, shipping and customer service through the Spring 2010 season in order to facilitate a smooth transition, according to the company. Windsong’s board named Jim Reilly president of Cloudveil Mountain Peak LLC. Reilly is a former chief executive officer of Cloudveil, as well as a former chief operating officer of The North Face and has held executive positions at Adidas and Nike. Windsong’s portfolio includes Atlantis Weathergear, Ellen Tracy, Caribbean Joe, Joe’s Jeans, Field & Stream, The Sharper Image, Carlos Falchi, Design Within Reach and Como Sport.
