Swimwear designer Sylvie Cachay died on Dec. 9 in New York. The cause of her death is under investigation, and her boyfriend, Nicholas Brooks, the son of an Oscar-winning composer, is being held without bail in New York. At the time of her death, the New York–based designer was working for Anne Cole. She previously designed her own label, Syla, which was among the collections on the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami Beach, Fla. She had also designed for Victoria’s Secret and Tommy Hilfiger.
