Canadian Gap
Mega-retailer Gap Inc. has launched an e-commerce site dedicated to the Canadian consumer. The San Francisco–based company has set up a fulfillment warehouse in Bolton, Ontario, that will help get the company’s goods—sold under the Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy nameplates—to Canadian consumers faster and more efficiently. Customers will no longer have to pay import and customs duties on goods being shipped from the United States, and they won’t be tied up at the border. Shoppers can take advantage of gift wrapping, and online orders are shipped by Canada Post, which is less expensive than shipping goods from the United States.
