Kaboodle's New Portals Help Weed Through the Web's Indie Finds
Hunting the web for that special piece can have a shopper virtually tripping over one trend from another. More and more sites such as e-commerce marketplace Etsy, and even auction giant eBay, are touting indie, vintage and unique finds.
Recognizing the appeal of independent design, social shopping site Kaboodle has unveiled the All Things Indie channel and the Kaboodle Pop10 product popularity index to help users whittle down the one-of-a-kind gems.
All Things Indie showcases products from boutique brands and individual artists from throughout the world, and pieces are curated by the Kaboodle community. The channel will also feature a weekly “Etsy Inside Scoop” report to keep the community updated on trend forecasts and exclusive discounts.
Kaboodle Pop10 users can express their voices by voting from a range of products chosen by Kaboodle editors and based on community interest. The top vote-getters make the Pop10. The inaugural Pop10 round of voting asks users to select their favorite floral-themed jewelry from Etsy designers.
“Kaboodle and Etsy are a natural fit for collaboration given their similarly passionate shopping communities. The Kaboodle Pop10 helps the Kaboodle community mine the rich expanse of handmade and vintage items on Etsy to discover and shop directly from their favorite designers,” said Erika Lenkert, Kaboodle's vice president of content and community, in a statement.
