Disney Inks Deal With Motherhood Maternity
Glendale, Calif.–based Disney Consumer Products is collaborating with Philadelphia-based Motherhood Maternity on a collection of maternity apparel and accessories that will feature iconic Disney characters.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Winnie the Pooh will appear on knit tees, sleepwear, plush toys and infant onesies, which will be sold in Motherhood Maternity and Destination Maternity stores, as well as the company’s e-commerce sites, www.motherhood.com and www.destinationmaternity.com.
The collection is designed for moms-to-be who grew up with the Disney characters. “This collaboration gives mom the opportunity to celebrate motherhood before her baby is born by wearing images of the nostalgic Disney characters that she fondly remembers from her own childhood,” said Stephen Teglas, vice president and general manager of fashion and home, North America, at Disney Consumer Products. “This is also the first time Disney is working with a maternity expert to bring quality products to expecting moms and Disney fans.”
Disney Consumer Products is a division of The Walt Disney Co. DCP is responsible for extending the Disney brand to a wide range of merchandise categories, including apparel, toys, home deacute;cor, books, magazines, foods, beverages, stationery, electronics and animation art. The deal with Motherhood Maternity falls under the Disney Fashion & Home department within DCP.
Motherhood Maternity operates stores throughout the United States, as well as in Puerto Rico, Guam and Canada.—Alison A. Nieder
