Wal-Mart’s Discrimination Suit
The San Francisco–based U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled to allow a group of current and former Wal-Mart employees to combine their efforts to bring suit against the Fayetteville, Ark.–based retail giant. The Wal-Mart employees have charged the retailer with gender discrimination over the past 10 years. The suit involved more than 1 million workers, who are seeking back pay and punitive damages.
