Lucky Lawsuit
Miami-based Marcel Fashion Group Inc. won its suit against Lucky Brand over the “Get Lucky” trademark after the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled in Marcel Fashion’s favor. The dispute charged Lucky Brand, a division of New York–based Liz Claiborne Inc., with selling apparel that infringed on Marcel Fashion’s Get Lucky trademark, which it has been using for an apparel collection since 1985. The company said it intends to “pursue a master licensing program for the Get Lucky trademark.”
