ANTM Takes Lloyd Klein to New Zealand

While past cycles of America’s Next Top Model have bounced around between New York and Los Angeles, this season’s 14th cycle went for more serious fashion cred by tapping new judge Andre Leon Talley, Vogue’s editor-at-large, and keeping the model competition in the Big Apple.
Now that the 14th cycle has been well underway and is reaching the home stretch toward a winner, it’s time for the models to ditch NYC and travel to an exotic locale to hone their modeling skills (or lack thereof) abroad. In last night’s episode, the six remaining contestants were whisked off to New Zealand, where they were sent out on go-sees immediately after stepping off from their flight—still reeking of a 22-hour plane ride.
For their first New Zealand photo shoot assignment, the models were tasked with working the exact same dress—a black evening gown with an infinite train and a billowing collar by Los Angeles–based couture designer Lloyd Klein.
The models also posed with a local native—a sheep named Prince, who appeared none-too-pleased to be treated as a model prop.
While the challenge was to see which model worked the gown the fiercest, some of the models allowed the dress to overtake them and let the dress do all the modeling.
But the ones that were able move and model the fluid, diaphanous gown were rewarded with a winning photo that stood out against lush landscape.
