Cameras, models and a new collection of clothes do not necessarily make a fashion shoot, said Victor Wilde. There also needs to be a sitar player, experimental films and an underground party atmosphere. He placed all of these elements in a loft on a deserted street at the edge of downtown Los Angeles on April 10. It was the backdrop for his shoot for his Fall 2010 line for his The Bohemian Society label.
Wilde and a crew of photographers shot pictures of 50 Bohemian Society pieces, ranging from dresses constructed out of Vietnam War–era parachutes to tuxedo shirt capes and jackets customized with American flags and spikes. Models, some from Grace Model Management, were given the job to pose in The Bohemian Society’s latest. However, party guests also were encouraged to put on Bohemian Society fashions. “Everyone is a player, not just a spectator,” Wilde said of the shoot.
