Delicious Lingerie
From sexy, body-conscious corset camis and pretty, girly ruffled panties to dorm-room lounge sets, Delicious offers something for every girl’s style with its debut lingerie line.
The Canadian parent company of Delicious is Clothing for Modern Times, a vertically integrated manufacturer and retailer that operates more than 150 fast-fashion stores in Canada, the United States and the Middle East under the brands Urban Behavior, Costa Blanca and Costa Blanca X. CMT launched its wholesale division, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, during the Aug. 31–Sept. 2 run of the MAGIC Marketplace trade show in Las Vegas.
Prior to launching Delicious as its own collection, lingerie “was always something [CMT] would add on as buys to their stores, and it began to check at retail,” said Amy Enuke, Delicious director. After lingerie made cash registers sing, the company decided to develop the category under its own label.
Delicious’ debut collection spans “four different moods of life, or any given stage in a woman’s life,” and grooves with what the trendy Urban Behavior or sophisticated Costa Blanca girl would wear underneath her clothes and to bed.
The group “Dorm” includes cotton pajama pants and tanks in pop prints for the high-school or college-girl slumber party. “Doll” maintains youthful fun in cotton/poly zebra burnout prints and sheer-mesh pastel colors. The feminine, soft “Divine” group takes after refined European-inspired design and steps up the fabrications in chiffon, poly satin and silk. Filling out the sexy boudoir side is “Dare,” which includes retro corset styling and garter belts in a sheer stretch nylon mesh and a black, red and hot-pink palette.
Wholesale price points average $6 to $10 for thongs and panties, $12 to $15.80 for bras, and $16 to $39 for chemises. Delicious has been sold to A Tropical Affair in Santa Barbara, Calif.; Fred Segal; Metropark; and Macy’s.
