Judith Leiber Debuts on Rodeo

You’ve seen Judith Leiber jewelry on many a red carpet. Now the New York-based jeweler and accessories designer hopes many fashion-savvy people will see the new Judith Leiber boutique. It’s located at 220 N. Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

A grand opening party was held for the new boutique on Sept. 23, and it was reportedly attended by celebs like Anne Heche, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amber Valetta, Sanaa Lathan, Gabrielle Union and Katie Cassidy, a star of TV series Melrose Place and the daughter of 70s TV star David Cassidy.

Beverly Hills might seem off the beaten track for Judith Leiber, given the brand’s current expansion. It opened boutiques in New Dehli and Dubai recently. Yet the 2,800-square-foot Beverly Hills boutique was intended to be a resource for fashion stylists organizing the red carpet walks for celebrities, said Mary Gleason, brand president of Judith Leiber.

The boutique should also be a shrine to fans of small, ornamental cases, or minaudieres, for which Judith Leiber has become famous. They are on display at the Rodeo Drive boutique’s Crystal room. Price points ranged from $2,000 to $10,000 for the minaudieres made in the shape of elephants, dolphins or the Buddha. This brand's eyewear, jewelry and handbags are also available for aficionados of Judith Leiber's special bling.
