Counterfeit Victory

Louis Vuitton, the high-end merchandiser of everything luxury, has been awarded $32.4 million in damages in a lawsuit against a California Web site accused of selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton items. On Aug. 28, a U.S. District Court jury in San Jose found Akanoc Solutions Inc., Managed Solutions Group Inc. and Steven Chen liable for contributory trademark and copyright infringement and awarded Louis Vuitton the mulit-million-dollar settlement.
