Queens in the Desert
Equality California—the 11-year-old organization that works with legislation, policy makers and coalitions to achieve equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community—will host its annual Equality Awards gala presented by ATT in Palm Springs this Saturday, Oct. 17.
On top of promising dapper black tie, sequins and champagne at the Riviera Resort Spa in Palm Springs, Project Runway alumni designers Raymundo Baltazar, Kristin Ehrig, Andraé Gonzalo, Sweet P Vaughn, Nick Verreos and Daniel Vosovic created swimwear designs to be featured in a fashion show.
This year's annual gala will honor “Will Grace” actress Debra Messing with the Lifetime Ally Award; California Teachers Association with the Equality Organization Award; and Hon. V. Manuel Pérez, assemblyman for District 80, with the Equality Advocate Award.
