TALA Scholarship Luncheon to Honor Students
The Textile Association of Los Angeles will be holding its 53rd annual scholarship luncheon on Nov. 18 at the California Market Center.
The event, starting at 11:30 a.m. inside the Fashion Theater, awards scholarships to students from the various fashion and design schools in Southern California.
This year, entries are being taken from students attending California State University, Los Angeles; the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising; Los Angeles Trade-Technical College; Woodbury University; and Otis College of Art and Design.
Students from each school are awarded first-, second- and third-place awards. The best student from all five schools is bestowed the Betty Baumgardner Award.
Guest speakers will be Christopher Wicks, chief executive and creative director of Los Angeles clothing company Defiance USA, and Ken Wengrod, president of the factoring company FTC Commercial.
Tickets for the event are $75 per person or $750 for a table of 10. All proceeds from the luncheon go to fund the scholarships.
