L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2010: Boy Meets Girl
Designer Stacy Igel looked to 1980s glam-band rockers for inspiration for the Spring 2010 collection for her line, Boy Meets Girl, which bowed on the runway on Oct. 30 at Rock Fashion Week at the Petersen Automotive Museum. The New York–based designer co-opted the bad boys’ skin-tight jeans, band T-shirts and slashed aesthetic and mixed it with a Cyndi Lauper-style affinity for lace, flouncy skirts and off-the-shoulder shirts. Igel enlisted the help of six female musicians (whose fortes range from hip-hop and soul to pop) to help her create the musically-inspired collection. The six singers will be featured in Boy Meets Girl’s Spring 2010 lookbook.—Erin Barajas
