L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2010: The Battalion
The Battalion’s Spring 2010 show Oct. 15 at Downtown L.A. Fashion Week was all body-conscious knits and moody hues. Draped blouses and dresses paired nicely with leggings and seamed bike shorts. Embellishment was kept to a minimum, as usual, with draping details, shredding and peeks of wispy chiffon adding interest to the brand’s basics. More sophisticated pieces also showed up on The Battalion’s runway. A black lace trench coat felt a little more demure than the brand’s typical street-savvy offerings. A shrunken white waiter-style jacked featured black piping and buttons. A Goth-meets-flamenco dancer dress closed the show and featured a narrow skirt dripping in layers of black chiffon.—Erin Barajas
