L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2010: Samora
The Samora Spring 2010 runway show, held Oct. 16 at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, was all about safari chic. Los Angeles–based designer Samora Olayan’s breezy blouses and blazers were evocative of Meryl Streep’s sexy tomboy turn in the classic “Out of Africa.” The color palette for the collection, both men and women, was limited to fiery orange, inky blue, gauzy white and shades of khaki. Prints added interest with moody stripes, a sophisticated play on tie-dye and oversize plaid.—Erin Barajas
