Barracuda and Lovemade Launch Summer Patio Sale

Fashion insiders are like shopaholics on speed who hoard garb, shoes, bags and accoutrements faster and at higher frequency than the average mall rat. One such shopaholic, Linda Nguyen, a free-lance designer and co-owner of accessories and events company Lovemade, has organized a collective of like-minded clotheshorses hustling to clean out their closet overflow.
The Barracuda and Lovemade Summer Patio Sale is half indie-designer sample sale and half yard sale by hipster kids with too much stuff. The curated mix changes weekly, and local brands such as Birds of a Feather vintage, Bazaar De La Montagne jewelry, Shadowscene clothing and accessories, Frecuencia Mondulada, Steven Shein, and Discrete Royalty have set up shop.
Last weekend, there were scores of vintage pieces priced-to-move and hand-picked by fashion plates such as former Rojas co-designer Alejandra Hernandez. She was selling her new line of accessories, Boos Besito, alongside 1990s-era floral dresses at half the cost of the vintage-inspired versions seen at Urban Outfitters down the street.
The sale will be held every Sunday on the patio of the Barracuda shop on Melrose Avenue, located across the street from the weekly Melrose Trading Post market in the Fairfax High School parking lot. Barracuda also offers special promotions weekly such as 30 percent off store purchases or free haircuts at the Barracuda salon. Vendors interested in participating can contact heart@love-made.com for more information.
