Fluxus Opens First Store
Fluxus’ debut party
Los Angeles–based Fluxus threw a fun party May 14 for the grand opening of the label’s first boutique, located in Los Angeles’ quaint Larchmont Village section. The design of the boutique, at 202 N. Larchmont Blvd., was inspired by the label’s name, according to Fluxus Associate Creative Director Joyce Hahn. The graceful, flowing sense of movement in the interior decor was influenced by the Fluxus art scene.
The 4-year-old label designs lightweight cotton fashions for women and men at price points ranging from $28 for a crew-neck sweater to $99 for a jumper-style outfit. Like the store’s interior, the label’s fashions balance stylish details with a light touch. Fluxus designer Beatrice Guapo said the label’s retail venture might continue to grow—the brand is leaving open the possibility of opening more Fluxus stores. “We definitely want to do more,” she said.
