Rock & Republic Opens on Robertson
SHINING RETAIL: The exterior of the Rock Republic flagship on Robertson is covered in a mirror material. The flagship store is scheduled to debut on May 18.
A very long wait on prominent fashion street Robertson Boulevard might be over May 18. The Rock Republic premium-denim label will open its Los Angeles flagship store on 103 S. Robertson Blvd. The jeans label has been promising to open the 3,800-square-foot space for more than one year.
Rock Republic Chief Executive Michael Ball said the premium-jeans label took its time for the sake of quality. “We wanted to make sure that every detail was perfect,” Ball said. “Trust us, it was worth the wait.”
The delayed project became grist for Robertson’s rumor mill, said Alison Muh, owner/president of Surly Girl, located at 116 N. Robertson. “People said it was opening, then there were rumors it was going to be subleased,” she said. “When you don’t see construction for months, you begin to take it with a grain of salt. We’re just excited to see them open. We’ve been waiting awhile for this.”
Rock Republic opened a store at the luxury Encore retail center at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas in December 2008.
