Sears, Roebuck & Co. Cuts Nearly 5,000 Jobs
Sears, Roebuck & Co. cut nearly 5,000 jobs in a restructuring move that includes simplifying store layout, upgrading clothing and centralizing checkout registers. The retailer plans to increase income by 50 percent or $1 billion over the next three years.
