Lawmakers Proposing Sales Tax Holiday
Lawmakers are proposing a holiday from sales tax. If passed, the Sales Tax Holiday Act of 2001, designed to stimulate the slowing economy, would halt the collection of sales tax between Nov. 23 and Dec. 2. The National Retail Federation worked with members of the Senate to help craft the bill.
