VF Corp., 7 For All Mankind's Egeck Resigns
Michael Egeck, president of VF Corp.’s contemporary-brand coalition, which handles such labels as 7 For All Mankind, Lucy and Splendid, has resigned from the corporation.
Leilani Augustine, vice president of marketing and licensing for the denim label, said Egeck’s resignation was announced to the staff on Monday, June 29. She said he left to “spend more time with his family.” No replacement has been named to take over his job.
Egeck joined 7 For All Mankind as its chief executive in 2006 when the company was a privately held entity owned by long-time Los Angeles garment manufacturer Peter Koral and Bear Stearns Merchant Banking.
In August 2007, VF Corp. bought the company for $775 million.
Egeck had worked for VF Corp. before signing on with the high-end denim maker. In 2000, he joined VF as president of The North Face division, where he worked until 2004. Between 2004 and 2006, he served as president of VF Outdoor Inc., overseeing The North Face, Vans, JanSport, Eastpak, Napapijri and Reef brands.
Prior to working at VF, Egeck launched the sportswear division of Columbia Sportswear in 1992 where he oversaw the brand's growth for eight years. He began his career with Seattle Pacific Industries Inc., owner of Unionbay and other denim-driven sportswear brands. —Deborah Belgum
