SIMA Announces Surf Summit Dates
After postponing its May dates because of the threat of swine flu, the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association has rescheduled its 12th annual Surf Summit for Sept. 30–Oct. 3 at the Crowne Plaza Resort Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
“SIMA’s new Surf Summit 12 dates reflect the surf-industry leadership’s strong consensus that we need an annual gathering of people and ideas, be it May or September,” said SIMA President Doug Palladini. “We know that attending will remain a priority for all SIMA members given the need for increased business acumen and communication in these challenging economic times.” The original lineup of speakers will change, and SIMA will announce the updated roster when it is finalized. Still on the agenda is SIMA’s Image Awards ceremony, which will now be held Oct. 2. —Erin Barajas
