Nastos Named President of ENK
Veteran apparel- and footwear-industry executive Thomas Nastos has been named president of New York–based ENK International, which produces the Brighte Companies show in Los Angeles and other trade events in New York and Las Vegas.
Nastos had been serving on ENK’s board of directors since 2007. He spent the past 10 years as president and chief executive officer of apparel manufacturing and distribution company Endurance LLC, which distributed Paper Denim, Joseph Abboud Jeans and Rocawear.
In his new post, Nastos will take over the day-to-day management activities from ENK Chair and Chief Creative Officer Elyse Kroll.
“Tom’s extensive background in the industries that are critical to our business will be extremely valuable as we focus on refreshing the WSA footwear show and implementing our growth strategy across ENK’s other product platforms. I look forward to working closely with him,” Kroll said in a statement.
ENK acquired Encino, Calif.–based WSA show in December 2007. Both entities are part of the holdings of Forstmann Little, which acquired a majority stake in ENK in 2006. ENK produces the Intermezzo, Brighte Companies, Coterie, ENKVegas, Children’s Club and The Collective apparel trade shows.
In addition to Endurance, Nastos was chief executive officer of Aris Industries, which produced Perry Ellis Jeans, Outerwear and Loungewear, Fubu Boys, Members Only Outerwear, XOXO and Baby Phat. He also was chief executive officer of private-label apparel supplier Synergy International.
Nastos is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at Cornell University and also serves as a professor of graduate studies in supply-chain management at the Fashion Institute of Technology. —Robert McAllister
